Does anyone know where a Texas Teaching Credential can be obtained (via distance learning)? My wife is looking into all options & she would prefer to study at home. She is currently an elementary school teacher and would like to continue with that.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

I would be interested in teacher cert as well, in case I decide to teach Criminal Justice in HS....

Amberton has a teacher cert program, though I don't know if it is DL.

    More WGU info

This article says that WGU's biggest enrollment is in its teacher cert programs and they have a large number of students from Texas, so your wife should be able to get lots of good info by calling their enrollment center.

University of Nebraska (I can't remember if it is the one at Lincoln or Omaha) has a very strong education program that can be done completely online.

I apologize for the lack of links, but I am sure someone here will know the correct answer.

So do you have to have an undergrad degree in the topic you wish to teach in a public school? Just curious how that works.
