I have a BSEE degree and been an engr for 15 yrs before changing career into business management a few yrs ago. I started my MSEE program when still was an engr. For some personal reason, I stopped the engineering study half way done (completed 18 out of 36 sem. units). Now I am in the MBA program with the same univ. where I started my MSEE program and expect to get my MBA degree by the end of 2001. I managed to convince the dept head of the College of Business to accept all 18 engr units (plus
I needed to make up the fundamental core subjects such as econ, finance, mkt, mgmt, acctg) to fulfill my MBA graduation requirements. I am planning to start my doctoral (most likely DBA) program upon MBA completion. I have inquired 2 Aussie and 1 US universities for the information to see how my "customized" MBA curriculum can fit their DBA/PhD admission requirements. Below is what I got so far:
    1) Charles Sturt U. told me that I would have no problem to go direct to their DBA program if I could maintain the GPA of my six MBA subjects at 3.5+.
    2) U. of S. Queensland can only give credit for the MBA subjects, nothing for engr.
    3) Northcentral U. did not evaluate my inquiry unless I send in an official application with fee.
Your comments or share of similar experience will be greatly appreciated.

I have your same background, I MSEE and a MBA, after some research my best option was the university of southern queensland, it is true that they don’t credit you engineering but they credit you the MBA as part of the DBA and not many universities do this. The only university that I know that can give you credit for both degrees is Deakin University for their Doctor of Technology Degree, but this degree is pretty much open including management.

CSU's DBA requires 192 points where a student with MBA degree can kick off 64 pts. This is why they said I could go straight to their DBA w/o any makeup MBA core subjects eventhough half of my MBA units are engr. Both Northwestern U. (PhD) and U. of Saratosa (DBA) give credits to MBA courses from accredited schools.
