PHD Need Assessment Survey for Liberty
    University MBA Students

Liberty University is studying the possibility of offering an online doctoral program in Business Administration. The proposal calls for 2 years of coursework (to include a one-week PhD orientation course and 2 summer one-week residency courses - the only residency required) and 1 year to write the dissertation.

Students will be able to specialize in one of the following areas: accounting, human resources, international business, leadership.

Accounting and Human Resources are very popular among our undergraduates. He have need of PhD instructors in these fields.

Our International Business program has generated very little interest.

If by Leadership you mean something like Business Administration, then we might be able to use your graduates from that program.

Consider, also, Marketing, Proprietary Education Management, and something related to the commercial side of Homeland Security.

Going out on a limb here, a PhD program in MIS that focuses on Open Source could be of interest, and it might draw attention to your program. There are many Business PhD and DBA programs. You'll want to be heard above the din of the crowd.

How do you plan to differentiate your program? Will the main distinction be your Fundamentalist Christian roots? Will you seek AACSB accreditation?

Do you know the timeline for the program start dates?

What would be the tuition rates/credit and the requires number pf credits beyond Graduate studies?

I am a distance MBA student and was asked to take the needs assessment survey. My post was simply to alert the board to a new program not to seek an assessment. I should have made that clear and I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

I do not have any additional information on the program. I will keep the board posted, as information becomes available.
