I am a team mgr in telecommunications. I am looking at the MSM at Amberton and the MBA at SJCME. Is the MBA better on the resume or the MSM? I am a mgr and don't have the need for acct., statistics, or qual analysis. The leadership and mgmt coursework is what is practical. Any feedback would be appreciated.

The degree which best matches your interests and/or needs is always the right choice.

Based on the information you provided the MSM looks more suitable from a practical day-to-day perspective given your position. Besides you can always pursue the MBA at a later date if you decide you want to move higher up on the corporate foodchain.

    Here's my thoughts:

As a manager, I found myself really learning a lot during my initial MBA work, especially in accounting and finance. Personally, I think if you are going to do the work aand spend the money, go for the MBA to get the leadership and management principles you want plus the other areas that allow you to "round out" as a manager/leader. From a resume perspective, I think people recognize the MBA as a top level business degree while an MSM may take some explaining as to what it is.
