Does anyone know of any of these programs that can be completed at distance? A mom-friend of mine is interested in this. Her undergrad, however, is in English and not really related to this field. Would this limit her chances of entering a Master's program?

    Any help is appreciated!!

    Hi Rhonda!

    What's shakin'???

This program might work for your mom-friend:

National Louis University - M.Ed. - Early Childhood Administration
    http://www.nl.edu/academics/nce/departments/ECE/ECE/

This is an online program, however the school requires "a limited number of residencies in the Chicago area at critical mileposts along the degree sequence."

National Louis is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

    Hi Tom!

Not much shakin' here, just me :p

Thanks for the link. It looks like a good program besides the residencies, but they even aren't that bad. I will let her know! So, have you decided to come on over to Excelsior yet? ;)

Not sure about early childhood education management, but master's degrees in early childhood education are available dl at:

    Concordia University (Minnesota) www.csp.edu
    Liberty University www.liberty.edu
    Macquarie University www.coe.mq.edu.au
    University of Nebraska http://dcs.unl.edu
    University of Northern Colorado www.unco.edu

Your friend might be interested in joining the listserv Early Childhood Education Online by emailing [email protected] with the message (in the body of the text): SUBSCRIBE ECEOL-L (your name).

PS - I have half a notion that Nova Southeastern University www.nova.edu might have an ECE specialization at the master's level, but haven't been able to confirm same in Bears' Guide.

Hey, if an old history major can get into an MBA program (and do well), I see no reason why an English major can't get into a master's in early childhood (and do well).
