Has anyone come across this recent university's update status or are aware if they have made application for DETC?

Per their website and info, they have continued to make stake to make application in 06 for the past 18 months that I have come across their site. They seem to have a nice site etc., and it appears they had to change their name to American Heritage U. from Heritage U, probably due to a Heritage U ( RA I believe ) already in existance up North, I believe in Washington State.

    Their link is:

They have a DBA program as well, and yet, I am not sure how they can make application with DETC and still offer the DBA since DETC does not currently accredited doctorals to date.

    Any info, please share.

Their website still says they plan to go for DETC accreditation in 2006. One might get further info on accreditation applicants at www.detc.org . DETC does have a doctoral accreditation pilot project, but I'm not sure whether they would consider a new accreditation candidate for the doctoral pilot project. The school is approved by the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education and the JD program is registered with the Committee of Bar Examiners.

And, if you click on "Accredited Institutions" and follow the drop-down menu to "New Applicants" and click on that, you will find that American Heritage University is not on the list. But I suppose we have yet ten more months to find out whether American Heritage University was telling us the truth about seeking DETC accreditation in 2006. No? ;)
