    Hello all,

    I am new here and not to caught up on distant learning. I am currently in the military and will be getting out next December. I am looking at a Human Resource Mgmt degree program but am very confused as to what school to choose. They are SO many and I do not want to make the wrong decision. I have no previous college with the exception of credits I have earned thru military schooling. What would be the best option?

    Any comments / info on the following schools?

    Bellevue U.

    Walden U.

    Franklin U.

    Capella U.

    I was originally going with CTU (Colorado Tech U) but did not feel comfortable with it and compared to other schools, very expensive so I opted out.
    I appreciate the input by all in advance. Thanks!

    I am currently attending Bellevue, I would certainly recommend it to you. They do offer an accelerated B.S. in HR management, however they do require 60 credit hours completed to be admitted into the accelerated program, which you could opt to use CLEP and DANTES testing (thats what I did)and or community college to get up to the 60. My overall experience with BU has been very positive.

    Rex79;

    I'm not trying to weight this thread too heavily in favor of Bellevue, but I've had a very positive experience with them as well - should be a graduate in April of this year.

    Anyway, I wanted to add a bit to Tigerhead's good advice - which branch of the service are you in? The reason I ask is that if you're AF, anything on your CCAF (Community College of the Air Force) transcript will transfer credit for credit, since CCAF is regionally accredited. These might go a long way towards satisfying Bellevue's 60 credit hour requirement, and if you've completed a CCAF Associate degreee, then you enter as a junior. This will certainly help with any of the other schools listed as well.

    If Army, Navy, or Marine, check with your respective service Ed. officer for transcription of your military credits. As above, it can't do anything but help.

    Now, as for Walden and Capella, other students on this board have spoke highly of them (and will hopefully weigh in with their experiences). Franklin U. I'm not familiar with, but maybe someone else can help. If the search function is working, try entering these schools as keywords. Best of luck.

    I appreciate the comments, I am in the Coast Guard and I do have un-official transcripts that have been reviewed. They can take up most needed electives

    D'oh! Wasn't trying to short the Coast Guard, Rex - my apologies.

    I have to put in a secondhand plug for Baker College Online as well. My wife's in the Associates in Human Resources program and moving on to the Bachelors shortly. She's been happy with the classes and instruction level, except for one specific teacher who was removed for non-performance.
