I am planning on pushing my education forward. There... Having said that; I'd like some (nearly) instant gratification for the courses I already have acquired. So that puts me in the associates degree range. (Previous credits from a local community college that I don't much care for.) I have a couple more classes I know I'd need to take. So I look longingly to San Juan college for there prices... yet am looking for something in a nice neat package so I can wrap up the a.d. and move on. So are there any schools known for their good prices and reasonable reqs for their associates degrees?

Excelsior College AA/AS programs are known to be both inexpensive and very accepting of credit earned elsewhere.

Provided you have met all of the degree requirements, you can have about as "instant" a gratification as anyone could want...

Excelsior does look like a good match for your needs. If you think you only need a few credits it would make sense to enroll now so that an advisor can tell you which classes to take. I needed an associates degree once to apply for a job, when I was almost finished with my BS at another school, and transferred enough credits to Excelsior and had a degree in a month or so. I liked the process so much that I transferred everything over and had my BS sooner than if I'd remained at my original school.

Would anyone know (about) how much it would cost to have my credits evaluated and everything? I went to their site and didn't have much success. Net seems a bit slow tonight and one page wouldn't even load. (I think its my ISP on their server.) Anyway it sounds like it could be a plan. I appreciate the help.:)

An AA/AS at Excelsior, provided you've completed most or all of the credit you will need to have, should cost you under $1500.

The first year "enrollment fee" which will include evaluation of your past credit but not fees for new courses or exams is $895. There's a $465 graduation/program completion fee.

There may or may not be some exam or course fees associated with your specific program.

I went to Coastline Community College and it was great for me. You can check them out at: http://coastline.cccd.edu/.

This is where I received my AA degree. Good luck to you!

I don't think you will find anyone that would say COSC has the BEST customer service. The prices are about the same for all three schools ($1,000 admin fees). COSC answered every question I had before I enrolled and I called them about 1-2X a week for 3 months. Bob, in advising, started to recognize my voice after a while. He was always professional and polite.

COSC is simply the best (in my opinion).

I cannot say enough great things about COSC. Excellent customer service, reasonable pricing, and clear guidelines. Easy in and easy out. Good times.

Were you in the military? Most people don't know that the University of Phoenix offers an AA through credit recongnition for former military. Here is a link - http://www.phoenix.edu/programs/degree_programs/associate_programs/Default.aspx

Thank you everyone for the information. I do have a newbie question about the list that Mr. Heiks posted. What does the numbers after the link mean?

    For example: (BG15, 153)

By the way, please don't call me Mr. Heiks. It makes me nervous and I start looking around to see where my Daddy is when people start saying "Mr. Heiks."

Coastline Community College is outstanding! I went with the AA in Health Science Technology. God bless the military!

I took several courses at Charter Oak State College and they too were always great with me!
They even cared about me BEFORE I signed up for the classes, lol.

I would have went with COSC for my Associates, but they had no degree Majors. For me, that was the ONLY issue!

    Good Luck!
