I have obtained 48 credits from Clep exams since October, and additional credits from a GRE in Pysch. I have paid for and received an "informal" credit review from Excelsior but I'm not sure how reliable it will be when it come to awarded credits toward a degree. When I asked for a breakdown on how they arrived at total credits, it was vague and they keep saying "you have to enroll to get a real evaluation".

Does anyone have experience with the "preliminary" ($60) credit review service from Excelsior? How well does it match up after you enroll??

    Thanks

Excelsior accepts just about all CLEPS

the Intro to Psych CLEP and the Human Growth CLEP will wipe out 6 credits of the GRE Psych exam

I'm sure whatever they tell you in the informal review will be near 100% accurate of what will actually transfer in

post a list of the CLEPS you don't think they will accept and your percentile score on the GRE

We can probably give just as good of an idea for free as they did for the $60

James is right, we're almost pros at this now. What major were you interested in at Excelsior? I can tell you if certain exams will be accepted or not. Remember, one only needs 30 UL credits for the Bachelor's degree. Also required are a certain number of credits in Humanities, Social Science, Math, Science, 3 credits in English composition (check with them first), 3 credits in Computer Applications, and Excelsior's 1-credit Information Literacy course. Am I missing anything?

I got a 600/52% on the GRE Psych. First 12 credits don't count as I already had them. Excelsior says they will give me 12U credits. I'm surprised. Also, they are counting a few old, old credits that are C-. Are they ignoring the minus? Right now I have 81L, 23U for a BS in Liberal Arts. They says I need 3L stats, 1L info literacy, 8U (anything), 1U Arts and Science, and 3L (anything). They are not counting 12U profressional credits from an accredited grad program yet.

I am most worried that thave made a mistake on the GRE and I will lose those credits.

I didn't get a complete brake down of my accept credit untill I enrolled. I was only told what I needed to complete my degree. If you think there not giving you credit for something call them and have them explain why.
