    Hi!

I am sure that my own target is trading (stocks, futures etc.) for living. I feed up with the theories that the professors wanted us to know but later turned out that they were really useless for making money. Recently, I know that Illinois Inst. of Tech. has build a trading room and have courses about trading. And IIT has a DL course in finance that seems to be much more practical-orientated than the traditional courses. Does anyone have experience with IIT? Is it really good? What are the employers thinking about DL degree in general?

    Thanks!

I am a curently an undergraduate engineering student at IIT and have taken courses via IITV. I like IITV courses very much; generally you watch the lecture at the time it is being given & you can phone questions to the instructor while the class is running. The courier service is reliable and the classes are a good educational experience. Be aware that some professors (such as the one I have this semester) require you to show up to main campus to take exams with the rest of the class.

I have no experience of any of the other methods that IIT uses to deliver DL courses but I do know they tend to try to do a good job of it. Staff and professors are helpful when you contact them with problems.

I can't tell you how the IIT's Stuart School of Business is rated. Possibly you could find out more information at the US News and World Report website. IIT overall is rated as a "second tier national university"
