Hi All I'm looking to take a few courses but am trying to find ones that have shorter terms, like 8-12 weeks. The courses I'm looking for are Physcial Georgraphy, Cultural Geography, History I which is up to 1850's I think, and American Government. Just trying to fill some prerequists to applying to a Masters Program in Education. Any information would be appreciated. LSU (www.is.lsu.edu) courses are cheap, $229, and you can finish them on your schedule. They are the old-style correspondence type, so you know everything you need to complete the course when your paperwork arrives. You can submit 3 lessons per week and there are usually about 12-15 lessons total. Texas State @ San Marcos (http://www.studyanywhere.txstate.edu) is another inexpensive option. These are also paper-based courses. There are generally fewer lessons per course than the LSU option. I used a Texas State course to finish my Excelsior degree at the last minute and it only took a couple months to finish. I think there were 8 lessons and two exams. They faxed the exam to my local library, so there was no mail delay. Generally, any of the correspondence programs are more flexible and you can move along as fast as you like. They usually have a maximum number of submissions per week rule, but that does not stop you from working ahead and holding the papers until the next week.
