MUA is your typical Carribean medical school, accredited on some obscure island and deriving its utility from WHO listing. I browsed valuemd.com forums just out of curiosity, and MUA is supposed to be one of the bigger and more substantial schools, actually graduating doctors that go on getting licenses to practice. There are actually 2 MUAs, one in Nevis and one in Belize, Nevis one being better. So I would expect their PhD to be legitimate, but risky in terms of acceptability.
Yes - I'll stay away from MUA even though it seems legit (this is the one in Nevis) but not all that accepted, unfortunately. I am looking into other more well known universities.
