BA English/ Technical/ Non fiction

Does anyone know of a DL, Regionally Accreditied, BA (or certificate) program in English with a focus on Business/ Technical Writing or Non-Fiction Writing?

The Union Institute & University offers a B.A. in Writing that can be tailored to non-fiction writing.

Goddard College also offers an Individualized B.A. that can be designed for non-fiction writing.

 

Before reading your post carefully, I found that Texas Tech offers on-line MA and PhD(!) degrees in technical communication.

I'd go after it for pure enjoyment. I was thinking about a BA because many MA English programs require a certain level of writing ability.

BA/BFA writing programs require a pretty high level of writing ability too. When you start getting into upper level writing/editing courses in a tech writing program, the standards are about as high as the MA/MFA is going to be.

Since you specify tech writing/non-fiction, you might want to look more toward Communication degrees and not English degrees. The latter tend to be much more about literature and literary crit.

Even MFA writing programs tend to be more geared toward fiction and creative writing than business communication.

Ellis Col. NYIT has a tech writing online that is pretty well respected in the field. (BA English in Professional Writing)

U Central Florida has a graduate certificate in technical writing that might help you decide that an MA/MFA/MS is the better way to go (or not)... The non-resident tuition is amazingly high.
