    Hey Gang!

Does anyone have a list of schools handy where one can earn a degree to be a R.D.? (R.A. only please!)

    Thanks :)

Kansas State University offers a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, available through distance learning.

KSU is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (NCA) of Colleges and Schools. So, yes, they are a RA school.

There are two program tracks available (see below for details). The Coordinated program (which requires relocation to Kansas for the last two semesters) is accredited by the ADA. The didactic program may be taken completely online. Upon graduation, you would qualify to apply to an ADA accredited internship or pre-professional practice program in your area.

    Didactic program
This program meets the academic requirements set forth by the American Dietetics Association and qualifies the student to apply for post-baccalaureate supervised practice programs. The didactic program is available to both in-state and out-of-state students. Supervised practice experience must be obtained by the student after graduation in order to qualify to take the national examination to become a registered dietitian.

    Coordinated program
The coordinated program combines the required supervised practice experience with the B.S. degree. This program provides the 900 hours of hands-on experience required by the American Dietetic Association for eligibility to take the registered dietitian exam. Thus, students interested in this option must be willing to relocate to Kansas for the last two semesters of this program.

Both the coordinated program in dietetics (CP) and the didactic program in dietetics (DPD) at Kansas State University are currently granted continuing accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association (ADA), 120 South Riverside Plaza, Suite 2000, Chicago, IL 60606-6995, 312-899-5400.
