A big thing to remember with e-Pack is that you get a LETTER grade for completing the course.

    Re: Whats epack?

e-Pack courses are offered by TESC. e-Packs are courses where students read through a textbook during a semester timeline with online chapter quizzes offered to guide your readiness for the final exam. You can take the final exam at anytime during the semester.

e-Packs are simply a DANTES/TECEP type test with a prescribed textbook and an outline laying out your study sessions. Advantage? TESC gives you a letter grade for an e-Pack. Disadvantage? Same price as a regular TESC class, so it's significantly more expensive than a CLEP/DANTES test.

I've been considering taking a couple of e-Packs myself. Instead of taking the CLEP Principles of Mgt and Marketing, if I take the e-Pack instead, and get an A, it'll be a nice boost to my GPA.

Got it. Import a CLEP or DANTES and get credit but no grade. Take an ePack, and get credit AND a recordable score.
    Interesting.

Yep, that's the way it works. Of course there is some risk, but if you really know the material, and would have gotten an 'A' on a CLEP test, then it might be worth it if you are concerned about your GPA.

Of course I don't know how the e-Pack 'final' compares to an equivalent TECEP or CLEP. I would hazard to guess that the ePack and TECEPs are quite similar.

Since it's a 'course', the portability and transferability of an e-Pack course on a transcript should be okay, but I don't know for sure. A B&M that wouldn't accept a CLEP should accept an e-Pack - maybe there are others out there who can share their experiences.

I know that TESC counts e-Packs towards residency (for honors). However, financial aid (i.e. Title IV funds) will not reimburse e-Packs.

Has anybody else out there taken an e-Pack? If so, please share your experience!

I've signed up for two e-Packs, and start in March. I'll report back on my experiences :)
