How are Clep & Dantes exams listed on TESC transcripts? Will the transcript say Business 101, Intro to Business or Dantes Intro to Business? Does TESC give a letter grade?
All CLEP/DANTES exams are 'mapped' to an equivalent TESC course. I took the DANTES MIS test, this is how it looks like on my degree audit (TESC transcript should be similar): Course #...Title..................................S.H...Grd..TESC #...Notes CIS-301.....Management Information Sy..3.00..CR...CIS-301...*NE TESC does not give letter grades for CLEP/DANTES/ECE/TECEP exams. Only 'CR' as you see above below Grd (Grade). I haven't taken Intro to Business, but I imagine it'll look like this: Course #...Title..................................S.H....Grd..TESC #...Notes BUS-101....Introduction to Business.........3.00..CR...BUS-101...*NE The Notes field lists this 'classes' as *NE, which means 'non-course equivalency'. I'm not sure if the Notes fields appear on a TESC transcript - perhaps a TESC grad can answer that question. But other than the CR for the grade and the *NE there's nothing to distinguish it as a CLEP or DANTES exam.
Thanks! Anyone have any idea what they look like on an Excelsior transcript? Do they assign letter grades?
I'll let you know in 32 days when I receive my diploma. Yes, Excelsior does assign letter grades for DANTES, ECE and some CLEP exams. My GPA is 3.89! Rhonda
Excelsior changed their policy last year on CLEP exams. For most CLEPs Excelsior only gives a P/F now instead of a letter grade. You might want to take a look at this thread WOW! Excelsior CLEP pass/fail exams
Here is what a courses looks like on the TESC transcript I got this week. HIS 113 American History I ....................TESC-Clep...... 3.00 CR 04/2000 HIS 114 American History II ...................TESC-Clep ..... 3.00 CR 04/2000 HIS 351 A History of the Vietnam War .... TESC-Dante ... 3.00 CR 05/2002 ...
Yep! I'm curious too. Can anyone tell us how things appear on the Excelsior transcripts? Maybe even provide a temporarily available link to a scanned transcript (anonymized of course)?
In my TESC AA, all my exams were given only pass/fail marks, which made for a rather boring marksheet. However, my Charter Oak State College transcript lists most (though not all) of my exams with letter grades. Peace, Matt
