Page one story in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on the abrupt departure of the Executive Director of the Family Services Agency of Beaver County. They report that the 114-year-old agency was "nearly driven to extinction by...mismanagement of the former executive director."

The person in question holds a Ph.D. from the totally fraudulent Harrington University, which may have been a factor in his hiring. The chap in question also had a book on anger management "published" by a vanity press, paid for by his agency. The 33-year-old man says the attention he has gotten has left him "weak, beaten and frail. I cannot imagine this ever going away. My relationship with Christ is all that keeps me moving..."

Interesting that his relationship with Christ didn't stop him from getting a fraudulent degree. Last time I checked (and I check at least weekly) honesty was part of the package deal.

The following verse from Harry Chapin's Thirty Thousand Pounds of Bananas seems appropriate somehow.

He was picking speed as the city spread its twinkling lights below him.
But he paid no heed as the shivering thoughts of the nights
    delights went through him.
His foot nudged the brakes to slow him down.
But the pedal floored easy without a sound.
    He said "Christ!"
It was funny how he had named the only man who could save him now.
He was trapped inside a dead-end hellslide,
    riding on his fear-hunched back
was every one of those yellow green
I'm telling you thirty thousand pounds of bananas.
Yes, there were thirty thousand pounds of bananas.

At least it seemed so to me.

    Cheers!

I couldn't help but think the same thing, Tom. As I have commented before, it is amazing how one can have legitimate B & M degrees, then obtain a Ph.D. which required less energy than high school, and think the degree is legitimate.

The story PSalmon found (thank you!) is today update. The original, which went further into the fake degree matter (including, of course, quotes from yours truly) appeared on August 15th.

It is really annoying when people bring Christ into their unchrist-like misdeeds. In this case I don't know about the allegations but the degree is certainly not within the bounds of traditional Christian conduct.

This kind of linkage simply brings discredit on Christianity. I have heard from investigators and others that when someone starts pleading "but I am a Christian" automatically red flags go up.

    Sighhh.

When people make the assumption I am a Christian because my first name is Christian it is irritiating.

When these same people scold me as being a bad Christian for some comment or act they disapprove of in their narrow minds, automatically red flags go up.

But you are Christian. And I am Scott. And when we're bad, you are a bad Christian and I am a bad Scott. [IMG]

Not to worry, Christian! My middle name is Alexander, and there are those who think I am Greek.

My expecting wife and I were going to name our son Alexander until we found out through later ultrasounds we were instead having a girl. [IMG]

    Christian,

My four year old granddaughter's middle name is Alexandria (after her granddad, of course), so that is always an option for the little girl.

  13. I'm a cristian in my heart of hearts,(mostly because of traditional upbringing in an Irish Catholic family). But I'm not much of a follower or flock member. As a matter-of-fact I spent close to four years in the early 1970's in an ashram living a monklike life. I guess that makes me not a flock member but definitely ba-a-a-a-a-a-ad. I did receive communion last week at a friend's funeral (first time in almost a decade). But I really got off on it. Ba-a-a-a-a-ad.

Tried that, as well as Alexandra, and she nixed both of them. Current working name is Kiana. [IMG]

We are expecting in February, sex currently unknown, and ruled out two names. You must keep in mind that Wetsch is pronounced 'wet-ch.'

Sam which would be "Sam Wetsch"

    and

Blair which would be "Blair Wetsch"

    John,

Whatever you do, do not name the child "Green," if it is a girl. This would make her name "Green Wetch." And if she married some guy whose last name was "University," her full married name would be "Green Wetsch University." This would not be good. [IMG]
