    Doctoral Degree in Strategic Leadership

I know that Regent University offers a PhD in Strategic Leadership but is anyone aware of any others - here in the US or offshore? I am conducting a search as we speak but not achieving much success.

I hope I'm not too far off base here as your interest is way outside my field, but have you looked at the PhDs offered by Walden University? Am I thinking of someone else or are you the person who has an interest in public admin? If so, Walden offers a PhD program in Public Policy and Administration with several specializations. Some of which include:

    - Nonprofit Management and Leadership
    - Public Management and Leadership
    - Public Policy

    PhD - Leaderhip

I am interested in Public Policy like you've said. However, the information re: PhD in Strategic Leadership is not for me. My best pal has decided to complete his PhD and wants to do it in Strategic Leadership as opposed to a DBA. He liked Regent , but he does not relish the idea of sitting for the GRE or having to attend so many Residential Institutes. He also does not like how long the Regent PhD in Strategic Leadership will take to complete.

I believed he looked at Walden and determined that Walden was beyond what his budget allows.

Thanks though, you've been very cordial.

The DSL is supposed to be more applied and practical while the PHD is supposed to be more theoretical. Both are available online.

    DSL Regent

I believe Regent requires GRE scores. His options appear
to be limited, but he is quite a bit the way I am - we both try to avoid standardized tests like the plague.:D

I donít know if you want to be like me...Iím still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. :)

I am presently enrolled in two PhD programs: one in business at NCU and one in modeling and simulation at Old Dominion University (ODU). I took one course with ODU last summer, but decided that the program in business with NCU was a better fit for my present career field.

    RA only

I note that admission requirements to the Regent DL programs include a degree from a RA institution.

    Starting to draw conclusions

I am at a point where I need to submit a reimbursement plan to my employer for obtaining my doctorate ement and after reading through many discussions here for the last year I have come to some conclusions.

If I want to get a doctorate to advance in my career and have credibility to teach, even if it is just in the secondary market (DeVry , CTU , etc.), then I have ascertained that...

    1. Doctorate degrees in "leadership" or "Organizational Management " may not have the same credibility as a DBA. So I am ruling out Regent , which at one point I considered.

    2. It is not at all clear how DMs or DMgt degrees fair against the DBA. They seem to be obscure at best, so I am leaning toward ruling them out altogether (out goes George Fox or CTU - which is local to me).

    3. That leaves me with a few DL choices: The DBA program at Argosy , the DBA or PhD in BA at NCU, or the PhD in BA at Torou.

My only minor hangup with NCU or Torou is the lack of any residential requirements...its just seems kind of flimsy when its done all online, and I realize that impression may be just because I have always preferred the dynamics of the face-to-face environment.

It would be great to hear from any who may feel my conclusions are way off base....

    Me too

David, those are good assumptions and questions. I'll be interested in what others have to say.

P.S. Hello to another Regis grad...did you go DL or onground (or both) for your MS?

If you want a program with residency, look into Nova Southeastern's DBA program.
