I am about to enroll in TESC. I'm very excited, the classes look interesting, I am motivated, and looking forward to graduating. However, I was pretty surprised to find out that my student loan could not be applied to the comprehensive tuition fee - only the "enrolled options". Here is a link to both options: Comprehensive and Enrolled Options at TESC Basically, the comprehensive fee allows for 12 credit per semester for the year, plus transcript evaluation and student services. The enrolled options plan is more a la carte - you pay for the services you need. Is it me or does it seem slightly ILLEGAL for a school to offer a discount to those not receiving aid? Or rather, to not offer the same options to those receiving aid as to those who do? I am still going to enroll, but I thought this was pretty unfair.
Generally, the all-inclusive deals are better rates that the a la carte. Financial aid likely does not apply since it has to go towards specific classes if I recall correctly, and not towards a degree in general. What was the reason you were given?
Thanks Ron. I am going to ask why that is the policy. At other schools my financial aid was applied toward the total cost of attendance, so I don't *think* it can only be applied to specific classes. But I am going to ask.
Also might what to look on page 6 of their Financial Aid handbook too. (not the part about being in jail) http://www.tesc.edu/financialaid/pdf/FApacket05_06.pdf
