Hi friends,I passed Clep Educational Psychology today evening with a 54.
I know this is a pass/fail exam but am feeling a bit less confident about the next one Human Growth and Development. Is this one also pass/fail? I hope it is.
I agree i had not studied properly for the last exam but even then i found it tougher than i expected.
How many days do you think i will need for Human Growth and Development?
    Any tips for the exam?
Your advice will be of great help.
    Thanks,
    Adoncia

    Hi Adoncia,

    Congratulations on passing Educational Psychology!

I found Principles of Marketing (which was pass/fail) to be harder than Principles of Management (which was graded).

The lesson for us all is: Don't take the pass/fail exams for granted.

We often talk about these exams as being "easy" but the truth is, people fail them all the time. We DO have to study and we DO have to know the necessary information to pass them.

This is just confirmation that we ARE actually EARNING our degrees! :p

FYI: CLEP Human Growth & Development is also pass/fail at Excelsior.

    Keep your chin up Adoncia.

In the inimitable words of Dory from Finding Nemo: "Just keep swimming!" :D

    Thanks

Thanks so much beholdweb for replying and encouraging me.I thought nobody was going to reply at all.
I am glad to learn the next one is pass/fail. Have you taken this exam? What study materials did you use.
I am going to study harder for this one.
    Thanks a bunch,
    Adoncia

I feel better now that I see someone else got a low score on the Educational Psychology exam, I got a 52 myself :(

This is a link to Excelsior College's Exam Cut Score Chart, listing the passing/fail for each exam.

    Adoncia,

Considering the amount of classroom time you are saving by these tests, you are way ahead of the normal timeline for the credits earned in a "bricks and mortar" environment. I for one am thinking you are doing very well! By way of comparison, it takes a regular student in a semester 16 weeks to arrive at the same place that you did by taking this exam and passing it!

It would never hurt to take a little time between "test goals" to consolidate the field of study by reading (used textbooks from the local community college bookstore are a great resource!).

I am happy to see you progress so rapidly.

Thanks Longwaytogo for cheering me up as always.I feel so much better now. It's true that this is much better than 16 weeks of regular classes in a subject that i am not even that interested in.
You are right about reading more college textbooks/other books related to the subject. I had totally relied on instacert for this one.
For the next exam i am using different study guides.I hope i will do well this time.
Thanks so much once again for the help and support.

    hey congradulations on the pass

    Congradulations !!!!!

Hey I didnt pass principles of marketing which goes to show you to put some time between the studies and not try to rapidly pass an exam ..the brain will retain so much information at a time ...

Thanks AGS,you are right. It gets really confusing sometimes if one tries to go too fast....even when there is overlap.I think that's what happened with me.
