Interesting news from www.ebsglobal.net, which surely will add more focus on DL-studying.

"Fulham Football Club managers choose EBS MBA
A team of six of Fulham Football Club’s premier executives, including manager Chris Coleman and assistant manager Steve Kean, have signed up to study the EBS MBA. This is believed to be the first time in the UK that the management of a football club has enrolled collectively on an MBA course.

Fulham compete in the high-pressure, high-profile English Premiership. The EBS MBA programme, leading to a Heriot-Watt University degree, is perfect for the busy management team because of its flexibility. The managers will be able to choose the order in which they study each course and the length of time they spend on each one. Courses such as Strategic Risk Management, Negotiation and Accounting will provide them with a wide range of transferable management skills. They will also be in good company – over 50% of the top Fortune 100 companies now have employees on EBS management programmes.

Dr Ray Donnelly, EBS consultant, said: “We are delighted that Fulham FC has chosen Heriot-Watt for its MBA. Football managers face tremendous pressure and need a variety of skills from financial management to team motivation, and their MBA studies will help them to develop these strengths.

“Teamwork is vital in the footballing world, as is competition. I hope the Fulham management team will encourage and support each other in their studies, with maybe a bit of a competitive edge in there as well to carry them through.”

    Fantastic!

Footballers and football management (generally ex-footballers, including the quoted gentlemen) are not normally famed for their intelligence, so more power to Chris and his boys!

    Peace,

    Dave C.

P.S. Yes, guys, this is a 'Soccer' story...;)

Just as an anecdotical note, I think I recall the owner of the club is Mohammed Alfayed, the father of Dodi. Isn´t it?

Footballers not intelligent? Well, take a look at David Beckam, for instance, who has truly amassed a fortune in barely ten years as a professional. How many people can say that? ;)
