    Dear Experts,
What is the difference in USQ between online and distance ? We live in Germany and would like to apply USQ in Bretten. They said if
we want to take Master in International Communication (which delivers only by
internet delivery) they cann't provide for
any support, and suggest to choose by distance. Which one is better ?

  2. To me, "online" is just one way to deliver distance education -- it can also be delivered via printed study guide, texts, and assignments & evaluations sent through mail. USQ's response to you strikes me as a bit odd.

If I were in your shoes, I'd ask for clarification. What support are they talking about? If you have a reliable Internet connection and are comfortable using e-mail and the web, what support do you need?

Thank you Kristin for your answer.
Today USQ-Bretten (Bretten is a city in Germany where there is USQ European Center)
had called me to ask whether i want to apply by online or by distance. If I choose by online then all documents should be directly addressed to Australia, and no support from Bretten. They said most European student take by distance. So for me, it seems confusing, because i thought they built local support to help the students in this area. How can I take the exam ? Will the internet courses be better then normal distance course ?.
if you have experience with USQ-Bretten, could you share with me.

Some of my impressions of USQ based on my current studies with them:

    * They are very responsive and very friendly to in every single email inquiry I have ever made to them. This includes follow-up to ensure their answer was satisfactory to me.

    * Their Web site is easy to navigate, information is easy to find, online enrollment and payment was painless, and their online course delivery Web site is as easy to navigate as the rest of their site.

    * The study materials are deceptively simple. The material is well-presented and gets right to the point. I found myself gliding through my study material only to be presented with an examination that was very comprehensive and demanded careful attention to detail throughout all of the material you were asked to study. In other words, the courses are not easy. But, if you are diligently studying the material with a real effort, you will succeed in the examinations.

    * The distribution of distance students to online students in the same course is staggering. I am the only online student in one of my courses that has hundreds of distance students. It is not much different in my other units. This has led some instructors to ask me to study through the distance student Web portal instead of the online student Web portal (which is very different).

    * My only disappointment was not being able to submit my audio presentation as a computer sound file. My wife has built a full-blown motion picture and digital film editing lab in our home, and with all the technology and software we have, I could have made a digital audio file in any format known to man. Would have also saved me US$52 in FedEx charges sending a cassette tape. [IMG]

    * Great school, great materials, and you can't beat the price. I am happy to have chosen this university, and as my Marketing instructor would smile to hear me say, the value equation is heavily in my favor.

    Best regards,

    Christian

    sidoriva (and dhyani ?),
my wife an I are enroled in USQ's Master of
Professional Computing (4 units done) ONLINE.

To our experience USQ Bretten does all the exam organistation regardless of study mode
and they do it very well.

Due to the difference in tuition fees
(900 AUD ONLINE vs. 1050 AUD external) there
seems to be a difference in enrolment service, e.g. snail-mail documents, translating etc.

But as kajidoro said, this can easily be done
    with USQOnline/NextEd directly.

You can mix the study modes of units as not all units my be available online (check the
excellent USQ Handbook). This will get You to know most of the NextED/studadm/faculty staff
by eMail, but with us they sorted everything
    out.

At one time their answer was:
"Don't worry, I will look into this, keep
    on studying"

    Good luck
    Friedrich
