The recent thread on Cranmer Seminary, located in High Point, NC, brought some interesting posts. http://cranmerseminary.orthodoxanglican.net I stopped by the "campus" today while commuting home from Charlotte and found an interesting scenario. The world headquarters of the EOCAA was located at the First Reformed United Church of Christ in High Point. EOCAA/Cranmer Seminary have leased the bottom floor of the church's educational building. No one was in the office, but I was able to speak to the pastor of FRUCC. He stated that the EOCAA and Cranmer had leased the building in November 2000. The pictures in Cranmer's catalog and Website are of FRUCC's sanctuary. In conversation with George Antonelli (North Carolina's equivalent of Oregon's Alan Contreras, 919-962-4559), I was told that Cranmer has not applied for, and does not have, religious exemption status. Cranmer's catalog states that the school does not need accreditation, at this time, to fulfill its mission. Russell
Russell, Thanks for the update. Very interesting. I thought we were going to be taking that black van.... John
Change of plan, John! After watching "Missing in Action" last night, starring Chuck Norris, I felt this strong urge to go solo. And like the movie, the mission was accomplished. Russell
It sounds like the Cranmer Seminary in NC is about as legitimate as the Cranmer House in Houston that I attended (see my post in reponse to the original thread about Cranmer Seminary. I look around Cranmer Seminary's web sight and looked the credentials of some of their faculty. Seems as though it is not just distance education schools that can pull a fast one!
Thanks for the comparison, and welcome to the forum. Several regular posters on DegreeInfo are involved in theological/ministerial/religious studies. Russell
