Here's how it works: 1) you make a post about any topic. 2) your IP address is logged in a database. 3) Lewchuck replies about BA in 4 week.
The BBS software tracks the IP address from which a given post originates. However, it doesn't store it in a database; it's part of the history of the specific thread. The admins, therefore, can't do any wholesale searches based on IP or anything like that. It's a built-in feature of the BBS software that is part of the back-end security functions.
