    HI everybody,
I am very interesting to take a Bsc degree in IT and computing. I found out that the only universities that provide distance learning with IT, within my range of income is UoL and Unisa. An Undergraduate degree in It costs about US$3000-4000, where UoL is about US$5000-6000. Although UoL is a much expensive than Unisa but I would try to struggle to pay the fees. Therefore which university is better? in terms of quality of education, presitge? or can I say which is much worthy?:D

On the face of it, there is no doubt that University of London wins hands down when it comes to how others perceive it.

It has an excellent reputation all over the world.

I had considered UoL myself for my law degree. I had applied and even been accepted. But in the end it was more of a stop-gap in case I was not accepted at a local university, because for me the fees would have been an additional challenge. Since I was accepted locally, at a much lower fee rate and one which I could relatively easily manage, I did not proceed with enrolling at UoL.

If I could have affored UoL more comfortably, I would have been proud to have accepted the challenge and enrolled at UoL for it's name recognition. I am still planning on enrolling with UoL for my LLM at a later time.

When I look how hard I find it to study full time while working to just keep afloat even with a lower fee course, I am glad that I did not go with UoL. It simply would have been much too stressful.

It is very much up to you to evaluate if the extra effort to pay for a UoL degree is of extra value to you, or if a UNISA degree will allow you to achieve your goals with less stress.

    Tough choice I know.

One more thing to consider: if you are willing to 'struggle' to meet the extra fees of UoL, then you might even struggle to pass all the courses at UoL because you spend more time working for the fees than on the course.

This could result in possibly failing a course or more because you don't have the time to commit to it due to working to meet the fees. If that happens, then you are losing time and more money to repeat failed subjects.
