    Hello,

    I attended TUI for my undergrad degree and really enjoyed my time there. I wanted another view of business so I chose Bellevue University for my MBA.

    Recently I decided to get a Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from TUI while I was working on my MBA at Bellevue.

    I have been struggling to stay motivated in the Bellevue program and just do not ENJOY the learning process anymore. I spent the last two days working on two courses from TUI for my Graduate Certificate and the enjoyment returned. I actually found myself enjoying the learning process again. I find it very easy to immerse myself in the learning environment at TUI, however, I find it next to impossible to get motivated in my other program.

    I just wanted to share my observation with the group for anyone else considering TUI's program. I am learning a ton at Bellevue but for some reason it’s just not “fun”.

    So what is it that TUI does right to provide you with the 'enjoyment' factor? Is it that the instructors are better? The learning materials are better? There must be something that you can point to at TUI that makes TUI different.

    I have been trying to put my finger on that for a while now. I think it is a combination of the requirement to read and research real life examples (via internet articles and papers) of business problems and subjects along with the video lectures and voice-over power points that provide some "contact" with the instructor.

    In my current program I am forced to read the textbook, do homework problems and take a test. Maybe it's the lack of application of the material and just learning theory that I'm not enjoying.

    I still have not narrowed it down completely.

    Ray;

    Your post actually helped me a lot. I've heard similar complaints from other Graduate students at Bellevue (particularly in the MBA program), and it surprised me.

    The cohort based programs at Bellevue (such as the one I'm about to finish) at the Undergrad level provide constant interaction and a great deal of instructor involvement. I had simply assumed that the Graduate level programs were the same (I understand the Leadership M.A. follows that format), but I'm inclined to look elsewhere for a Masters degree based on what you and others have written.

    Part two of why this rung a bell with me - I've been giving serious thoughts to some of TUI's Graduate Certificate programs, specifically the Strategic Leadership certificate, http://www.tourou.edu/cba/mba.htm#Strategic%20Leadership with the intent to transfer the credits to Amberton after recieving the certification.

    It sounds like you've found a great deal of satisfaction with TUI's learning environment, and I wanted to say thanks for sharing your thoughts. You never know who else may find them of great value.

    Dave
