    Can anyone tell me what GST/Potch's new fees are for master's degrees? I know they increased, but how much?

    Maybe Russell or someone else can tell me.

    Thanks!

    Michael,

    As of July 1, 2001 the fees are as follows:

    Registration Fee=100 pounds
    Bachelor's=2500 pounds
    Master's=3000 pounds
    Doctorate's=4000 pounds

    All fees must be paid in pounds sterling. Given the exchange rate, the current doctoral program would be approximately $6000.00.

    Hope this helps!

    GST's www.study-theology.com site shows "under construction," but the http://www.killacky.fsnet.co.uk site seems to reflect the official costs. (Prof Killacky is the Registrar.)

    (Drum roll) From Prof Killacky's site:

    "These fees are for the FULL course and not the cost per year
    BA / BA(HONS) - UK £1750 - US £2500
    MA / MTh - UK £ 2500 - US £3000
    PhD / ThD - UK £3000 - US £4000"

    Send an email to [email protected] to confirm.

    The prospectus is also outdated. I think the one they have been using was from 1998. A new one has just been released--actually, its going to print. Dr. Evans e-mailed me an attachment of the document which has updated information as of July 1, 2001.

    Dr. Evans, along with Dr. Gerald Hughes (who serves as my GST promoter) spent the month of May at Potch, giving a series of lectures, meeting with administration, etc. The association between GST and Potch continues to be solid, substantive and ongoing. GST will continue to offer degree programs, provide tutoring, while Potch will continue to provide tutoring and award the degree.

    While perhaps not for every person in every situation, the Potch/GST route remains a valid and credible option for many distance learners. Certainly a legitimate accredited (GAAP) degree.

    Pretty good deal for a GAAP Ph.D.

    The history of South African education is interesting. It appears to have been very important in the development of South Africa in terms of developing quality institutions and the effects of religious and political influences on their development. Especially true in regards to the Afrikaaner/Reformed institutions. Not to mention the innovation (ala U of London) in terms of UNISA and distance learning.

    If anyone would like a copy of this information I will be happy to send it via e-mail attachment (Word 2000 document, about 15 pages). My e-mail address is [email protected] .

    The website has updated its fee structure, however, the prospectus has yet to be updated.
