This is supposed to be a great new facility, with an auditorium for staff meetings, from what I understand, but NCU stated that they do not intend on offering on site courses.

However... Dr. Hecht did tell members of the community in town meetings that they may offer courses for the locals in the form of training/community college-esque courses, but nothing that would amount into a degree or be required for online learners (this was in the local papers, NCU staff told me they know nothing of it :) ). Additionally, the staff reiterated to me that no matter what, no onsite residencies will ever be required for their doctoral programs.

But I do find it interesting that NCU chose to build such a large facility and that they own an additional 40 acres of land. :)

    Website

I'm sure that NCU's new facility will be very nice, but have they considered revising their website. It looks like a diploma mill! I know its not, but it may turn some people away. The website is the face of any online school, not the facility.

NCU had a survey in 2002 and the number one issue learners had was the appearance of the institution. They have been promising to upgrade the website for years now, but other than making upgrades to the learners page (which prospective students never see) nothing has happened.

The appearance of the NCU website certainly hasn't slowed down the number of enrollments because 2005 was NCU's best year ever.

Personally I couldn't care less how the website looks.

We have enough schools too concerned about rankings, status, and unnecessary professional accreditations as it is!

Give me the educational experience that fits my lifestyle and needs. So far NCU has done that.

    Just my opinion

    Agreed.

Most important, NCU has been updating and improving the learners area as long as I have been an NCU learner (12/03). Additionally, the educational experience has been challenging and rewarding.
