Here is a 1995 letter from Maxine Asher granting WAUC "accreditation" to Universidad Internacional de las Américas:

I particularly like the line about "the organization's joint conference with the United Nations." What a crock!!

That conference was actually held at the United Nations Plaza hotel in New York, an ordinary hotel where anyone can rent function rooms, but was promoted as if it were a joint venture with the United Nations.

 

Absolutely amazing, John! Would a credible institution actually mislead prospective students like that?
