    Good morning!

I was reading the December issue of PMI Today (a supplementary publication of the Project Management Institute), and I saw that 2 of the 10 PMI scholarship recipients for 2005 attend DL institutions. With 8 different schools in 3 countries represented, it was interesting to see Capella and Northcentral in the mix.

Please note that this information is just presented for interest only. I am well aware that a number of the scholarships are restricted (e.g., by geographic region), and we are not talking about a representative sample of any sort. However, it just caught my eye that the top professional organization for project management would award scholarships supporting students attending school via distance learning.

More information can be seen by clicking on the various scholarships at http://www.pmi.org/pmief/scholarships.htm on the web.

    Have a nice day!

The Alamo chapter of PMI (San Antonio) awarded me a scholarship last year knowing full well that that I was a DL student, though the scholarship wasn't designated specifically for DL or any other category.

What they were primarily interested in was GPA, quality of writing, and potential for advancement (upon degree completion) within the project management field.
