Interesting study. Desire for 9/11 revenge in New Yorkers was found to be among the lowest in the nation according to this study by Dr. Brant. http://news.yahoo.com/s/prweb/20051218/bs_prweb/prweb323527_1 -S
This type of scholarship is what is needed to establish and improve the reputation of Capella as an institution of higher education. Great publicity for the school. If I was in a postion of authority at Capella, Walden, Jones International, Northcentral, et al., I would offer signficant incentives to my full-time faculty for research. Even though quality instruction and student services keeps the students, scholarly activites add value to the degree.
Hi Anthony, I agree with you. Activities like these can definitely help distance learning schools improve their image and reputation. I hope that Capella continues to offer more incentives to their core faculty for more research. Thanks for the feedback! -S
It should be noted that the link provided is a paid advertisment from Capella. Many corporations use the PRWeb.
Agreed, Randy, but does that diminish the quality or originality of the work? I can see the angle for a for profit school – publish an original (scholarly) work in the most public way it can. And they most certainly added the plug for the school in the body of the work. I still see it as an encouraging sign for DL and the schools that operate primarily in that environment. If they can produce an original, recognized study that stimulates discussion and furthers a reputation for research at these schools, then at least it’s a start. Dave
