The University of Missouri-Columbia offers a doctoral degree in Human Environmental Science. The degree sounds closely akin to an Urban Affairs type program is you ask me. The degree is a research degree, with some online class content. No RI is required and each credit is $300.00.

Do you have any further information on the program? Reviewing the websites, it reads similar to many research degree programs. I cannot find anything specific to the discuss topic.

On another side note, have you decided to continue at NSU or are you looking at Oz?

    What I think

My opinion is that the PhD degree is in Environment & Behavior. It is through the department of Architectural Studies. Nothing technical, It is a research based degree. ARCHST is the prefix required for the program of study. It is very similar to an Urban Studies degree. It appears to me that Missouri Direct Education is extremely flexible. (See link below) Classes like ARCHST 8850- Problems in Environmental Design, Nuclear Engineering 7330, Science & Technology of Terrorism and Counterterrorism and Rural Sociology 7325-American Community Studies are just a few options. The Rural Sociology course appears to be a community development course. The Environmental Design course consist of independent study research. The terrorism course looks interesting, if you ask me. Discussion boards and online quizzes that allowed multiple attemts!!! The program is totally distance and its only $300 per credit hour.

Hope the following links are helpful.
