Despite some people thinking I'm a sockpuppet, I've purchased and read the (enjoyable and humerous) book about Diploma Mills. On the book, I have a question about the image on the front: Is it a stock photo, or one from a real Mill case? Kind regards
Reputations for being sockpuppets are earned. Give readers a history of posts, both here and elsewhere, which tend not to make you look like a mill shill and your reputation -- here, at least -- will improve markedly. Others have done it. Accountability's a bitch... but I know you could handle it if you wanted to. As to the front cover of Dr. Bear's and Mr. Ezell's book, let's hope Dr. Bear will chime-in with the answer to your question.
Neither a stock photo nor a real mill, but a staged photo taken by the publisher. I thought it would be more effective if one could read the name of a real mill on the envelopes, but they chose not to do that. Regarding sock puppets: When Long Island University gave an honorary degree to Kermit the Frog, a graduating student said, “I’ve been here laboring for five years and now we have a sock puppet talking at our commencement. It’s kind of upsetting.”
