Good Morning, I am doing a search for my daughter who needs an additional certificate in any type of criminology or law enforcement for professional reasons. This can include college credits or be professional development certificates. Any quick ideas. Thanks. Hille

    Hi

Try Andrew Jackson University (NA) and the University of Michigan (RA).

If you're patient about plowing through these Google search results, you're likely to find something.

Just be sure to look-up in the CHEA database anything you find that interests you so you may determine if it's accredited. For example, the very first search result is to the good-for-nothing Canyon College... a notorious diploma mill. Sadly, when searching among the educational web sites which utilize the .edu top-level domain (TLD) in their web site URLs, Canyon comes-up a lot. I suppose I could have forced Canyon out of the search results by adding the term:
    • -"canyon college"
just before the site:.edu advanced operator in the text string that I typed into the Google search box; but then that would have deprived me of this opportunity to educate readers about certain Google search pitfalls... as well as the fact that one may never assume that just because a given institution's web site utilizes the .edu TLD does not mean that said institution is legitimate or accredited.

Also, there are so many bogus institutions using the .edu TLD that eliminating Canyon College would be just a drop in the bucket. The safest way is to just go ahead and find/investigate all possibilities, and then be sure to run the finalists through the CHEA database to determine accreditation standing.

She might want to consider Michigan State University. They have one of the best criminal justice programs in the country and have a certificate program in which the courses can be put towards a Masters.
