    Hey Guys and Gals:
I registered for a DL( or Guided Independent Study) course at University of Iowa BUT I don't have a clue about finding a proctor in NYC. Has anyone here taken DL exams with free proctors IN NYC. Please respond

Welcome to the forum rackwin. Your situation is not uncommon and I'm sure that you'll get some good, specific advice from members. I have a couple of suggestions for you while you're waiting for people to respond. The first is that you should make sure that you are aware of the proctoring requirements that are established by the folks in Iowa. They may not accept just anyone or any situation. Secondly, you might check with any local colleges. They will all have some proctoring capacity, although it may not be free. Sometimes Public Libraries might be accepted as an acceptable testing environment although I'd guess that a specific Librarian would have to be identified as the Proctor. Finally, sometimes members of the Clergy are seen as being acceptable as Proctors. Good luck.
    Jack
