    Has anyone completed or is currently enrolled in a National University Master's or MBA program? Can you shoot me a syllabus for one of your graduate level classes? I was wondering how intensive the 4-week courses are and am trying to compare them to my current 12-week course.

    Thanks!

    I did the on-campus National MBA in the '80's. The one-course-per-month format was extremely intensive. I can't imagine the online version being any less so. But my experience was that you did as much work and covered as much material as you did in a traditional course. (I know this; I was a military officer when doing my MBA and had to take courses at two other schools to complete my National MBA.)

    I did my undergrad at National University at their Mission Valley campus. Then started with their MBA at MCRD (pay half-tuition there as a veteran).
    I took 3 classes before dropping it. My reason is the speed of the program and its inapropriatness to an MBA education. 4 weeks is not an adequate time to delve in all facets of the course, and really discuss it thoroughly in class.
    * My e-business professor was more concerned with finishing his powerpoint (literally reading off the slides and discouraging discussions) than promoting class discussions.For example: We spent one hour of the whole month talking about Ebay :eek: and almost no talk of technological considerations (servers, technologies, whatever) to conducting the e-business facet of it. :confused:
    * Leadership class: more of a philosophical discussion of the meaning, concepts and merits of leadership. Last 2 weeks were spent discussing, writing a report and presenting said report about the movie Glory. (it felt more like a public communication class than anything)
    * Managerial Marketing: snooze session.
    the class that broke the camel's back. I called my adviser on the second week of that month to drop off the program, earning me a W there.

    They try to favor the cohort method as much as possible, but people take classes out of order, or some others as needed. Military students deploy or their dependants withdraw if the spouse moves to another duty station.
    I know a couple that finished reluctantly because their work was paying for it, and they needed that piece of paper for promotion. I dropped out because I was paying out of pocket and wanted a real MBA education.
    This was fall 2004. I don't know if they got better, or how that assessement transfers to their online teaching, but I personally felt that 4 weeks was TOO quick for an MBA degree.
