So what is the take on the double-major? Would people recommend doing a double-major or two degrees? I am contemplating doing a double-major at FHSU ( Information Networking and Telecommunications & Leadership ) - but have not yet made up my mind. Heck, I'm not even sure whether go go Double Major or Minor in Leadership - thus this post. (FYI, once I finished this Bachelors, I plan on going to CC for the Masters in Network Security - then onto MBA in Leadership.) Thoughts / Opinions, Pros / Cons? BM
I would do the major in Info Networking and a minor in Telecommunications and Leadership. That way, you'll have core classes from that discipline, which will prepare you for the MBA in Leadership. Is CC Capitol College? Rhonda
My current Major is "Computer Networking and Telecommunications" ( http://www.fhsu.edu/int ) - and I am contemplating the 2nd Major in Leadership .. choices, choices... *chuckle* Yes - CC is Capitol College.
When I faced a similar choice between two majors or one major plus one minor I decided to take the plunge (two majors). The first major was already completed due to transfer credits and the second major was already a minor so with a few additional courses the minor will be a major. Whew! Basically, though, the choice comes down to what works best for you in your particular situation. By the way, Royal Roads University offers a graduate degree in Master of Arts in Leadership and Training. My sister earned the MA Leadership and Training (Justice and Public Safety Leadership) this year and enjoyed the programme. There are one or two short residency periods required though.
I minored in Communication, but I can't really say it's helped me at all. Then again, it certainly hasn't hurt.
