Besides Nova's DPA program, does any know of another/similar program offered by another DL school in the US without the large cost of Nova.

In the US, the only DL options I'm aware of are Walden University, which offers the Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration, and The Union Institute, where you can design your own program and major. Unfortunately, costs are probably similar, but Union is less expensive than Walden.

Outside the US, there are several options.

There are very few D.P.A. programs in the US (less than a dozen)... and many of them have converted to the Ph.D. in recent years... Arizona State and Western Michigan being the most recent. Regarding the DL D.P.A... Hamline University (St Paul, MN) has a quasi-DL (with on-campus requirements) DPA... however after researching the site for changes before I sent this out, Hamline reports that they have placed a moratorium on new admissions until 2003 (for quality control purposes)... They appear to have a well thought out curriculum... in a small-Christian liberal arts school... However the school is not known for granting doctorates... which could pose "difficulties" for someone looking to use the D.P.A. within academe away from the geographical area serviced by Hamline...

Tuition for the D.P.A. was not readily available with the 10 minutes or so of surfing that I did... I do recall that their tuition was quite a bit less than NSU's a few years ago (1997/8ish)...
