Has anyone ever taken any of the online courses offered by the ACM? Do those courses cover the same material in the same amount of depth as the courses offered by a college? Would you get better quality training from these courses or the courses offered at a college?

If ACM refers to Association for Computing Machinery, then the courses offered through their web site cannot be used for direct credit. However, these courses could be used as the basis for attempting a prior learning assessment (PLA) at an institution.

There is no means to track actual learning with these courses. Hence, the lack of direct credit earning possibility. The ACM web site states this explicitly.
