Hello, My husband is taking a Spec. Ed course through BYU. He completed all of the assignments required for the course prior to taking the midterm and has scheduled the final. Dilemma***He averaged a 90 percent on assignments. He received a 50 on the midterm. The midterm was hand written and proctored at our local library. The instructor found his handwriting hard to read and said he rambled. Also, he commented that he was generous with assignment grading but not midterm and final. I find this a very odd policy. My husband has requested that the midterm be evaluated by another instructor prior to his retesting. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Thanks for the input. Hille

  2. Can he type his final? If the local library has a PC and a printer this may make a big difference to the person grading the exam.

Unless the prof is targeting your husband specifically I don't see where you would have any recourse. I'd have him go back to the prof and ask for some specific examples of "rambling" and any suggestions on how to improve.

    Cheers,
    Mark
