I have checked into several DL doctoral programs out of couriousity and all seem to be expensive (around 40-50K total). Seems like one has to be wealthy into order to afford such a program. Does anyone here know of any DL doctorate programs which are under the 40-50K price range? Just about all seem to be this price except NCU and Touro (which are the exceptions). However, all other seem to be very expensive.

Your location would be helpful in answering the question.

If you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, the research doctoral programs will be significantly cheaper.

When I did the math on business doctorates, I found that many of the research only doctorates based out of the UK add up to US$30-35K. These included Aston, Strathclyde, and Henley, and this was about a year ago. Manchester's DBA program was definitely more in the range you mentioned.

    Hope that helps...

I think you'll find that the universities in South Africa are the least expensive. Depending on how long it takes a person to complete their degree, you can expect a total of less than $5K.

Indeed, although in many cases you'll have to visit there, perhaps more than once, which adds a lot to that figure. On the other hand, you get to visit South Africa, which sounds pretty cool.
