I have completed 11 courses from the American College. They are accredited and say each course is worth 3 hours. Any ideas on which colleges will grant the 33 hours toward a degree completion?

Do you mean at the graduate level? You might want to try....American College! [IMG] If not, expect to be able to transfer only about 6-15 s.h. into a master's program at an accredited school. And that's IF they are acceptable to the receiving school AND IF they're relevant to your degree requirements.

If you're looking to transfer them into a bachelor's program, take your pick.

This is predicated on the notion that American College has actually awarded you credit for your courses. They are regionally accredited, which should help facilitate the transfer. But you might want to stick in there and earn their degree. Unless there is something about this you haven't said. (We can only go on what you tell us.)

    Good luck!

I am referring to a bachelors degree...The American College does offer a masters degree, but not bachelors. I am hoping to get the credit towards a BS or BA. Thanks.

Then the trick will be to find the right program for you. I took my first bachelor's from USNY Regents (now Excelsior) in business. Try www.excelsior.edu.

Speaking as someone who has the CPCU and ARM, earned via distance learning, there is a university in Newport, Rhode Island called Salve Regina. Their website is at www.salve.edu.

At one time, the university accepted the CPCU as about 1/3rd of the academics needed to complete a masters in management. I do not recall if this program was available via distance learning.

As to other insurance courses, most of the schools do accept them as credits, usually in the business field.

I would suggest contacting Excelsior College (formerly Regents College), as they are very familiar with the CPCU/IIA courses. I believe Excelsior is developing a business degree around the CPCU/IIA curriculum, and I know the Institutes website mentions it specifically.

I have completed 100 hours toward my Excelsior bachelor's degree, 37 of which were granted for CPCU and IIA coursework.

    Good Luck!
