I'm looking for academic advisors to do some nontraditional degree planning/advising on the side on a per-project/per-person basis.

A dream come true would be someone who works for or used to work for Excelsior College.

The next best scenario would be someone with military academic advising experience.

Anyone who is qualified to help students plan out how to finish their associate's or bachelor's degree through examination and earn a degree specifically from Excelsior should write me if interested.

If you know someone who might be interested, or have ideas on how to find a person with such specific qualifications, please write me.

Please PM or email me with any questions.

    Thank you,

    Welcome, Steven!

I, for one, do not begrudge you your right to conduct the consultation you propose completely privately; but by coming here and, in essence, using this place purely as a means of advertising your need, then taking private how you satisfied it, the whole purpose of this place is usurped. People want to learn from your experiences. I'm not saying you have to, but I think everyone would appreciate it if you and whomever responds to your posting did all your conversing right here, where others can benefit from whatever you learn.

That said, I certainly respect your privacy and I, for one, don't require that you conduct your consultation in public. But you're here using a pseudonym, so it's not like anyone can figure out who you are. I mean... yeah, people now know your name is Steven... but there are a lot of Stevens in the world. You could be any of them... and, in fact, probably are! [grin]

Anyway, it's your call... but we sure would appreciate it if you and whomever responds to you did whatever you're gonna' do right here in this thread.

    Thanks! And good luck.

Thanks for the welcome Gregg! Yes, I will gladly post and share on this forum anything that comes of this (as long as it's not private information).

Mainly, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find a consultant or an agency that provides this kind of service--I'm not actually looking to get any specific degree advice right now; that will be between the student customer and the service provider.

I am very familiar with Excelsior requirements and I have military educational counseling experience.

My Excelsior knowledge is high on the liberal arts and nursing degrees. My military experience is Army (and Reserve and National Guard) but I also had experience in a joint service command that provided background of Navy, USMC, and Air Force. Sorry, no USCG experience here.

Let me know what you're looking for and I'll see if I can help out.
