Hello out there in Distance Learning land!! Can anyone verify if Kaplan College is Regionally Accreditated? I received information from about the school and they want my work experience included. Typically, those "Diploma Mills" ask for work experience to speed up phony degree program. Thanks UV Vis Guy ------------------
When I last checked, Kaplan College was not regionally accredited. I just now checked and it appears that they are now regionally accredited! http://www.petersons.com/kaplancolleges/kc_index.html
Don't confuse 'The Kaplan Colleges' with 'Kaplan College'. 'The Kaplan Colleges' is an umbrella organization with three components: 1. 'Kaplan College' proper in Iowa. This branch (and this branch only) is regionally accredited (by the North Central Association). 2. 'The College of Professional Studies' is not regionally accredited although it does have DETC accreditation. 3. 'Concord College of Law' is DETC accredited, but is neither regionally accredited nor (more important) ABA accredited.
Don't forget the completely unaccredited Concord Law Center, offering LLM degrees in taxation and health law. Nosborne (formerly Joybaum)
It's funny you should ask that. I just got off the phone not 10 minutes ago with a rep from KC. I don't remember her first name, but her last name was Krauss. She was a very personable lady, answered all of my questions, even helped me to decide wether or not Kaplan would be for me. She and I BOTH were in agreement that the curriculum at Kaplan didnot meet my needs or wants, adn she even recommended some other colleges like Regis University, for instance. Call them. Ask questions. You'll be glad you did. Oh, and they are accredited by the North Central Assoc. of Colleges and Schools Commission. 1-800-817-8272. ------------------ mea
