What is the equivalent of CSU's and USQ's Graduate Certificate in US? The same goes to the Graduate Diploma of CSU and USQ.

Here's my take on the Graduate Diploma: if you had earned a Bachelors degree in English Literature, e.g., and you decided that you wanted to pursue a postgraduate program in History, then you might first be required to obtain a Graduate Diploma in History in order to obtain the necessary background in History. The English system of higher education appears to be more focused than the American system and so a person might obtain their BA in a particular subject without taking hardly any other subjects. The Graduate Diploma is essentially a means of obtaining background in a subject previously unstudied and usually involves taking a number (8-10) of undergraduate courses in that subject. If you enroll on a full-time basis you can normally finish it in a year. To my knowledge there is no real American equivalent except maybe obtaining a second BA degree.

Typically out here, a Grad Cert is half of a Gad Dip which is half of a coursework Masters - so at the best, one quarter of a non research/thesis masters.

On the other hand, just to confuse, it may be a 'Diploma' level course but requiring a graduate degree for entry.

    Confused? :))

Don't waste your time on less than a Masters degree.
