Wow - This is a great curriculum! But its not Regionally Accredited (RA) so there wouldn't be financial aid available.

Do you know of another similiar school that's inexpensive? I've done several searches but the only other one I found was Keller (DeVry) and that's expensive.

I stand corrected! I was looking for the usual places (about us, etc) for the words of accreditation. Thanks for the info - I had also checked on fafsa to see if they were on the list of schools that offered financial aid - They don't.

    Thanks again!

Are Finance and Financial Planning considered the same thing, as least as far as being able to teach?

I don't think so, but in the case of the College of Financial Planning, they have three types of MS, one is financial planning, one is straight finance, and the other is a CFA track. So you can choose the one most appropriate to your area of interest to teach.

Never trust what any institution's web site says about it's own accreditation status. Always check the two databases here; and especially here. Always.

I dont think you are looking for Accounting programs. In case if you are FAU offers MS in Accounting and also MBA with Accounting concentration. Both are 100% online and RA+AACSB and you might also get in-state tuition. Please ignore this post if this is not you are looking.

Finance and financial planning are NOT the same thing.

Some elements (investments, portfolio theory) are taught in both, but financial planning also includes personal income tax planning, estate planning, insurance and risk management, the financial planning process, employee benefit planning, retirement planning, goal planning and related topics.

The financial planning curriculum usually qualifies one to sit for the CFP exam. The required course work and topics are at the CFP Board website at http://www.cfp-board.org.
