    Hello!!!

I was told by my advisor I need to apply for financial aid NOW so I can get it in time to start classes in January even though I am not fully accepted they are waiting on my transcripts from my old school. So I am trying to fill out all the forms and my financial aid but i have a question that i would like answered tonight so I can do whatever I can tonight and Peru obviously can't help me now because it's after hours.

I just finished my associates degree sept 2005 from AIU and received financial aid for that ( I filled out the ('05-'06 application which was a renewal FAFSA because I received it the year before also). So when I fill out for financial aid to attend Peru state college do I just do another renewal FAFSA or will I need to use the financial aid form I used at AIU? Or am I suppose to do a '06-'07 FAFSA? Because don't you need your tax information to complete it which I obviously wont receive until after January.

Thanks for any advice you have to offer me it is much appreciated!

Are you filling out your FAFSA online? If not, you may be able to find the answers to your questions here:

To answer your question you will use the same FAFSA information that you had for the year and used previously with AIU. You will need to get the school code for Peru and change this information on your FAFSA under school information and add this new information. This way they will be able to receive the FAFSA electronically. The 2006-2007 FAFSA will be based upon your 2005 income taxes and you will just have to fill in the school code information for Peru, and update the amounts you made and the figures from your 2005 income tax year. One more thing too, if you're now considered a junior you will want to update this portion on your FAFSA as well. The change in status entitles you to more loan monies if you so choose to go that route. Hope that this answers your question.

To add to philosophy's answer - You couldn't even file for 2006-2007 renewal until January anyway. You are still in the 2005-2006 school year despite when you graduated from AIU. As philosophy stated, you would have to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov,
click on "Make corrections to a processed FAFSA", choose 2005-2006 corrections, enter your personal information and PIN, then you will be able to go down to the section that asks which school you are going to, edit that choice and choose your new school. Peru will receive this information electronically and the ball will start rolling from there.

    Hi Melissa,

I'm happy that you selected Peru State College to complete your Bachelor's degree. It looks to be a fine school. Perhaps you can check back with us in a couple of months to let us know how everything is going for you.

I just checked Peru's website... Peru's Title IV code is 002559.

    Hope this helps.
