    Hi everyone,
I had called the University of WA to resgister for a Dantes exam for dec first week.
They said they do administer them and said they will have to order it for me.
But when they learnt that i do not have an SSN,they said they were not sure if Dantes would let me take the tests.
I am nervous now as that means i might have to substitute these tests for maybe more difficult ones.
Anyone had similar experience or know of anyone else who has been n this situation, please let me know.
    Thank you,
    Adoncia

Adoncia, you say you have no social security number (SSN) and reside in the USA. Are you a permanent resident, US citizen, or foreigner? When I took professional development courses through Learning Tree International and wrote the after-course-exam for ACE-approved credit I used my social insurance number (SIN) as I am a Canadian citizen. If you have a taxpayer ID issued by the IRS, that might be sufficient. I assume DANTES requires an unique identifier for each test taker and the SSN is the most convenient for them and most students.

I just took the Dantes MIS exam - I'm pretty sure that the instructions said you do not have to put down a SSN if you are a civilian taking the exam. However I would call the DSST info line at 866-794-3497 to be sure.

I hope it works out for you... Let us know what they say. Good luck on your test!
