    Hi all,
I am going to take the Analyzing and Interpreting Literature exam tommorow.
I am not very confident though as i have used only the Clep Official Guide.
I read the REA review for clep guide in a Barnes and Noble store nearby.
I spent around 3 hours with that book and looked at many practice questions, but did'nt buy it at i wanted to take the exam sooner.
I have taken prints of some literary terms and their definations like allegory, refrain etc but still seem to forget and not understand many like iambic pentameter and other stuff.
How many of these types of questions should i expect on the test?
Any advice from you will be highly appreciated and very helpful to me.
Does anyone know of any online resources to read with explanations in literature and poetry?
    Thanks for your help,
    Adoncia

The REA Analyzing /Interp. Lit. CLEP test prep guide should be all you need. It is merely taken from a section in the REA general CLEP exam guide. I found taking practice exams at least 3 times (even if the same one) to be helpful. Good luck!

I wouldn't say this eaxm in very difficult, but I can say you have to work fast. Time is the greatest danger on this one.

    Military pass rate 69%

I found this on the degreeforum link, the military pass rate in 2002 was 58%, now it is up to 69%. My guess is the improvement in study aides that are now available: instacert.com, xenia's study guides on ebay, etc.

  6. Agreed. There is a lot of reading to do, and if you're in a room with other people it may be hard to focus. Otherwise, no specialized knowledge is required as you're analyzing what you've read.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I usually tell people that this one's a cakewalk, and it is, but that's provided one is a native speaker of English. I can see the archaic terminology in poetry being a barrier to someone for whom English is a second tongue.

    Either way, good luck!

    I passed

Thanks everyone for the replies and advice.
I took the exam this evening and passed.
I scored 59 and was feeling bad that i missed the A by one mark only, but then now i think i should be happy that at least i scored a B as i was not at all confident about my preparation in the first place.
    thanks again,
    Adoncia

    CONGRATS!!!!

The long road to your bachelors begins with a single CLEP!

Congrats Adoncia, that's great news! Keep it up, the first one is always the hardest.
