    Hello everyone,

It is my undestanding that if one is not enrolled at Excelsior, they are not open to give out much information. This is the reason for my asking the following question:

If one, with no college credit whatsoever, is considering to take as many CLEPS and DANTES exams as possible to eventually get a degree from Excelsior with the idea of, at some point, some day, teach English and Spanish, what would be the best route to take (exams to take)? To test the waters, I am taking soon the easiest of them all for me, Spanish. Also, does it matter the order in which the exams are taken? Thanks.

Sign-up for a free myEC account for the programme you want, probably Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts, and determine the requirements for the degree in terms of subject areas. In some cases it is apparently possible to test-out of the entire degree.

You should refer to unixman's oddyssey threads for an excellent overview of the tests he used towards his degree. I forget whether he attended EC, COSC, or TESC.

It may help to do the Self-Review Assessment. But you need to be sure that the courses/certifications/whatever you plug into the assessment are courses acceptable to Excelsior and applicable to the program of study..

Thanks, sentinel and decimon for the suggestions. I have opened myEC account now; soon I'll have a better idea about what course to take. I'll also call their 1-800 number. Much appreciated.
